The SDRplay RSPdx-R2 is a 14-bit wideband RF receiver in a metal casing, covering the 1kHz - 2GHz frequencies (VLF, LF, MW, HF, VHF, UHF and L-band) without any gaps. An entire 10MHz spectrum can be monitored at a time. The receiver provides three (software-controlled) antenna inputs and an external clock input. The USB port powers it.
After connecting it to a computer (via USB 2.0) and an antenna, its functions are controlled by free downloadable professional software like SDRunoTM and SDRconnectTM. A documented API also allows developers to create new demodulators or applications around the platform.
The RSPdx-R2 is the successor of the SDRplay RSPdx. Compared to the first generation RSPdx, the R2 has improved noise characteristics, which is especially notable below 1MHz. In addition to this improvement, the dynamic range below 2MHz has greatly improved in both tune and HDR mode.
CAUTION: The input of the SDRPlay is very sensitive to ESD discharges and excessive input power. This product should be used with great care. A faulty input will never be repaired by SDRPlay under warranty.
