Owon OEL1515T electronic load reviews

I needed affordable electronic load with battery capacity test function. It works great and it is easy to use. It is small so it does not take up very much space. For low ampere (2A) tests it is very quite. At higher currents the fan starts to spin up and becomes audible. But it is not too loud.

My main use for this load is to discharge 18650 batteries. As I have another electronic load (Siglent SDL1020X-E) I noticed that while discharging with 1A or higher current Owon OEL1515 does count time slower than Siglent (the counted time is around 1% less than the time actually passed). I tested this multiple times and the result was always the same.

Little explanation: If I start both electronic loads and chronometer at the same time I can see that Siglent and chronometer counts time the same. For example after 2 hours they both will show 2 hours. But Owon will show around 1% less time on the display (1 hour and 59 minutes). That also impacts the counted capacity. However the difference is small. And also this is not a precision tool so it is not a problem.

Overall great product for a low price. From Eleshop you get T version, which is great for battery tests.

Only downside is that battery discharge test is only constant current.
