Tip:
The Guide IR PC230 thermal imaging camera is not available any more. The Guide IR E2+ autofocus thermal imaging camera is the successor of the PC230.
The performance and quality of this thermal camera can easily be compared with well-known brands like Flir. Especially the excellent price/quality ratio stands out. Using both the superb IR resolution of 256x192 combined with the information obtained from its visible light camera, this PC230 delivers crisp clear thermal images. Besides the excellent sensor this camera offers other important features: for example 1 second boot time, auto hot & cold spot tracking, alarm function, flashlight, and a laser. This camera can be considered to be very sturdy as it has an IP54 rating and been drop-tested up to 2m. It can be mounted on a tripod, because it features a 1/4 inch mount connector on the handle bottom.Compared to the PC210 the PC230 offers autofocus. The angle of view of the PC230 is much smaller, so the image looks more "zoomed in" or more nearby.
A macro lens can be used on the PC230, but the focal distance is very short and the range is very small. So for macro purposes we recommend the PC210, because it saves you the cost of the autofocus.
A camera bag to safely store the PC230 camera can be found on the following page.
For tutorials on the Thermotools software, the Guide Youtube account, seen here, contains many videos on how to use the software.
