Tip:
The E2+ is not available anymore. The E2+S is the successor of the E2+.
The Guide IR E2+ is the successor of the Guide PC230. Although the outside looks the same, the camera has some considerable upgrades, such as the capability to record video, wifi, real-time control via an app, and firmware updates via wifi.
The performance and quality of this thermal camera can easily be compared with well-known brands like Flir.
Especially the excellent price/quality ratio stands out. Using both the superb IR resolution of 256x192 combined
with the information obtained from its visible light camera, this E2+ delivers crisp clear thermal images and videos. Besides
the excellent sensor, this camera offers other important features: for example 9 seconds boot time, auto hot & cold spot tracking, real-time super-resolution (512x384), alarm function, flashlight, and a laser. Furthermore, it has built-in 16 GB of memory.
This camera can be considered to be very sturdy as it has an IP54 rating and has been drop-tested up to 2m. It can be
mounted on a tripod because it features a 1/4-inch mount connector on the handle bottom. A macro lens can be used on the E2+, but the focal distance is very short and the range is very small. So for macro purposes, we recommend the E2, because it saves you the cost of the autofocus.
Using PotPlayer it is possible to view live IR video over USB-C. It is also possible to view the IR video live over wifi with the Thermography app.
A camera bag to safely store the E2+ camera can be found on the following page page.
For tutorials on the Thermotools software, the Guide Youtube account, seen here, contains many videos on how to use the software.
The Guide E2+ can be upgraded. While new firmware may not always appear automatically via OTA, you can request an update by emailing liqc@guideir.com with your device serial number and a request for an OTA update. Once enabled by Guide, the update will appear in the OTA menu as usual. Updating generally makes the E2+ feel faster and more responsive.
