Had 2 of these units. Neither lasted more than 2 months, one didnt even make it through the first one.
Yes they were running for 4-6/h per day but I would expect better.
While they were working they did a good job but both failed in the same way - motor coils burned. Im not sure if overhearing or bad insulation but it doesent really matter. They let out the magic smoke, one stopped completely and the other one barely rotated.
The only good part of my experience was the eleshop service, they promply honored the warranty and shipped a replacement unit (which also kicked the can). After that I got a refund from Eleshop, again painless process, great communication which I really appreciate.
After that we bought the Eleshop fume extractor and that has been running perfectly for 8 months so far.
Aoyue FEK-01 soldering fume extractor

The Aoyue FEK-01 soldering fume extractor is not available any more. The FE1W soldering fume extractor is a good alternative to the FEK-01.
The Aoyue FEK-01 Soldering fume extractor has two extractors, each with a LED lamp. The FEK-01 stands on wheels so you can easily move it. This extractor is much cheaper than competing models, but is a bit noisier. It has an activated carbon filter, which collects the particles and is washable, and a HEPA filter (E11) for dust particles. This allows it to filter 97% of the particles larger than 0.3 μm from the air. The FEK-01 is therefore a handy product to use during soldering and you will never suffer from (toxic) solder fumes again.
The filter should be replaced every 12 months. The spare filter for the FEK-01 can be found here . Please order it immediately and sufficient for the coming years, because availability of this Aoyue filter is limited and this spare filter will be discontinued later in 2024.
