Power-off testing with the ASA100 analog signature analyser is the simple way to diagnose faulty components on a PCBA. Connected to a PC via USB and running our own free software you can quickly analyse components incircuit and look for tell-tale faulty signatures.
In ‘advanced’ mode you can efficiently capture signatures of an entire PCBA (‘golden board’) and compare with a suspect PCBA to find areas/components that contain faults. Golden PCBA signatures can be stored for later use (as can suspect PCBA signatures).
If you also want to test active components, the ASA200 is the next model in this line. It adds a ±10 V gate/bias generator for SCRs, opto-couplers, small relays and TRIACs, two footpedal inputs and 8 instead of 3 series resistance settings.
