The Rigol DNA5082 is a compact 2-port vector network analyser covering 5kHz to 8.5GHz. As the VNA is part of the DNA5000-series, it measures S-parameters, impedance, VSWR, and group delay across a wide frequency range in a compact format. Typical use cases include RF component characterisation, filter and amplifier testing, cable and antenna measurements, university laboratories, and pre-compliance RF debugging.
The DNA5000-series has a strong performance for a portable instrument, with a typical dynamic range of 127dB (10MHz to 6.5GHz, at 10Hz IF BW) and trace noise as low as 0.005dB rms, allowing accurate measurements in demanding conditions. The IF bandwidth is adjustable from 1Hz to 10MHz, giving direct control over the trade-off between measurement speed and noise floor. Frequency resolution is 1Hz across the full range.
The VNA has comprehensive calibration options, supporting SOLT, OSL, response, enhanced response, and ECal electronic calibration kits. The VNA runs Linux on a 10.1-inch capacitive display (1280x800) and supports physical keys, touch input, and an external keyboard and mouse. It features LAN, USB (host and device), and HDMI interfaces, and SCPI command sets and web-based remote control are both supported out of the box.
