EFM51 verification kit

The EFM51 verification kit contains a handheld pocket-sized electrostatic field meter, which detects and measures ES fields, potentials and the discharge time of objects. Unique to this kit is that it also includes a charge plate accessory which, combined with the EFM51 meter, can test and verify ESD ionizers efficiency.

An ionizer blows ionized air to neutralize static charge from the air and the effectiveness of such a device can be measured by the plate accessory. The plate is charged manually via the included handheld high voltage generator and is then connected to the EFM51. The effective neutralization of this charge by the ionizer can be measured and evaluated.

When using the included walking test kit with the base electrode and hand electrode, it can also detect and measure the electrostatic discharge of a person walking on a floor. Capable of measuring static voltages up to ±800kV, this product enables you to check whether or not current ESD protection compliance is sufficient, especially for floors.

When using the main ES field mode, the used chopper is a multibladed propeller rotating at a high rate over the measurement aperture, causing the DC electric field to be converted to an AC-type signal. This results in a higher sensitivity measurement than with a tuning-fork chopper.
