Details

The Harogic HDA-200 is a cost effective active directional antenna, and is suitable for spectrum monitoring, interference hunting and signal direction finding from 500MHz all the way to 20GHz. Furthermore, this antenna pairs a directional element with a switchable amplifier, so weak signals can be lifted by 16dB where needed and the amplifier can be bypassed when a strong signal would otherwise overload the receiver.

An integrated attitude and heading reference system reports azimuth, pitch and roll in real time, so the direction of every measurement is recorded alongside the signal. The antenna is powered over USB Type-C by the host, which keeps the assembly light at 680g and removes the need for batteries. Used with a Harogic spectrum analyser the antenna factor is loaded automatically in SAStudio4, where the mapping mode plots measurement points and colours them by received signal strength. Pros and cons

  • Covers up to 20GHz, so millimetre wave bands stay in reach
  • Switchable amplifier, so weak and strong signals can both be measured
  • Integrated attitude and heading sensor logs the direction of every measurement
  • Powered over USB, so a host connection is always needed
