I'm really disappointed with this fume extractor.
I had found a really good spot for it on my bench so I really like the compactness
But on the other hand you can barely do anything with it on the lowest setting . You have to crank up the flow in order to be effective, meaning being able to suck the fumes without having the nose right on the work piece. And unfortunately, the noise level is already way too high at the second setting ( out of 3 ).
With the mic at approx. 60 cm from the extractor's base, I measured :
65 dB on level 1
75 db on level 2
80 dB on level 3
On level 1, a 15cm distance between the nose and the work piece is already too much but closer than that is not really practical.
Given those results, I'm not even confident that buyng the bigger extractor would be a solution to the noise level.
