The LibreCAL electronic calibration module for vector network analysers is a 4-port module used to calibrate vector network analysers, such as the LibreVNA. The LibreCAL operates within a frequency range of 9kHz to 6GHz, making it suitable for a wide array of RF calibration tasks. The module simplifies calibration by simulating open, shorted, and 50Ω connections. This way, consistent VNA measurements are ensured across the entire frequency spectrum.
As with any electronic calibration module, repeatability is the most challenging aspect of calibrating. With the integrated heater and temperature sensor, the LibreCAL keeps critical parts at a constant temperature during operation.
