The heater is easily removable by undoing 3 screws and the station also comes with a handy maintenance kit that includes cleaning pins, a nozzle wrench, and different filters. The filter on the FR-400 is also larger and more transparent. This filter enhances the flux adsorption property greatly and the transparency makes checking the filter condition way easier.

On top of that, the large LCD on the desoldering station makes it very easy to check the temperature and report potential clogging.
