The Guide IR E4 is a capable thermal camera. The look and feel of the camera is similar to other cameras in the guide E-series, with improved specifications such as the IR resolution, a higher thermal sensitivity with a NETD of 25mK, and a larger display. The thermal camera has several practical features, such as the capability to record video, wifi, and real-time control via an app, and firmware updates via wifi. The performance and quality of this thermal camera can easily be compared with well-known brands like Flir. The E4 has a high IR resolution of 384x288 with a total of 110592 pixels, which is more than double that of other thermal cameras in the E-series, making this camera a significant upgrade. Using both the IR resolution of 384x288 combined with the information obtained from its visible light camera, this thermal camera can deliver crisp, clear thermal images and videos. Besides the sensor, this camera offers other important features: for example, auto hot & cold spot tracking, real-time super-resolution (768x576), alarm function, flashlight, and a laser. Furthermore, it has 32GB of built-in memory.
This camera can be considered to be very sturdy as it has an IP54 rating and has been drop-tested up to 2m. It can be mounted on a tripod, because it features a 1/4 inch mount connector on the handle bottom. Using PotPlayer, it is possible to view live IR video over USB-C. It is also possible to view the IR video live over wifi with the Thermography app.
