Details

The SDRPlay RSP1A is a Radio Spectrum Processor SDR receiver with a reception from 1 kHz up to 2 GHz. The RSP1A is designed around the concept of Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology, which is a radio communication system in which components that would typically be implemented in hardware are executed by means of software on a PC or an embedded system. Using this software, these components can therefore be used as an RF spectrum analyser.

The RSP1A has a bandwidth of 10 MHz and can also sample in real-time over this bandwidth, which is a big advantage compared to the standard spectrum analysers that generally use Sweep sampling. The receiver has a spectrum that starts at 1 kHz, continues to LF, MW, HF, VHF, UHF, L-band and stops at 2 GHz, without interruptions in the spectrum. The receiver is also equipped with 11 high-performance low-, band- and high-pass filters.

It is a very universal system that is compatible with every popular SDR software such as HDSDR, SDR Console and Cubic SDR. In addition, it is compatible with SDRuno, which is included by default by SDRPlay. The RSP1A is a separate module that has to be used in combination with a PC and an antenna. The spectrum can then be analyzed via the software on the PC. The nice thing about the RSP1A compared to similar modules is that it is equipped with a 14-bit ADC silicon technology. The receiver also has a user-friendly interface, where it is powered by the USB cable (not included) and has only an SMA antenna connection.

The SDRPlay RSP1A is, all in all, a receiver with a very long range, a low noise floor and a user-friendly interface.

An USB cable is not included with the RSP1A. It is recommended to order this USB cable together with the RSP1A. This cable includes 2 ferrite beads.
