Details
The NGE102B is an affordable, high-precision power supply with high efficiency and low ripple, offering 66 watts of total power throughout two earth-free channels. The output connectors can hold 4 mm safety banana plugs or clamp-stripped cables. Each channel is electrically identical, meaning each channel can be seen as a separate power supply, which is a rather unique feature among power supplies.
Despite its small size, the NGE102B offers a lot of features. Like many power supplies, the outputs can be combined in serial or parallel and feature short-circuit protection. Other safety features include electronic fuses, over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), over-power protection (OPP) and an over-temperature protection (OTP). When it comes to ease of use, the NGE102B has five memory keys to save and recall instrument settings. All basic settings are directly operated via direct keys on the front panel with the aid of a rotary knob.
The EasyArb is a unique feature available on this power supply, which allows the user to conveniently program time/voltage or time/current sequences. Another unique feature available is the EasyRamp, which can simulate operating conditions where the supply voltage ramps up continuously over the span of 10 ms to 10 seconds. Both the EasyArb and the EasyRamp functions can be controlled manually or remotely.
The NGE102B has several interfaces to operate the power supply remotely. A USB port is available on the back side of the device, which works via a COM port and TMC class. In addition, the NGE102B offers an optional Ethernet interface (K101 option), which allows the user to remotely control all instrument parameters through a web server hosted on the device. The IP can be manually or dynamically set and can be used with standard web browsers. Using a browser, all connected instruments can be operated via the web. An additional 4-bit digital I/O is available on the backside of the device (K103 option) and acts as trigger inputs or outputs.
