RF Explorer 6G COMBO spectrum analyser

The 6G Combo is a model with bandwidths of 15 - 2700 MHz and 4850 - 6100 MHz and comes with Nagoya NA-773 and Whip 2.4 GHz antennas. This makes the meter suitable for use in the frequency range of e.g. radios, 433 MHz, Bluetooth, GPRS and 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi networks.

These handheld spectrum analysers from RF Explorer are inexpensive but still have a surprising list of specifications. When designing, installing and troubleshooting wireless systems, it is often quite difficult to predict the propagation of radio waves. These rugged aluminum analysers feature a large battery, making them more than 16 hours to use on one charge. With the supplied software they can display data on a PC, in high detail and with various functions such as '3d-waterfall' display, CSV and image export. In addition, the meter can be connected to a telephone via an OTG cable and measured via a Android app. This app can be downloaded and tried for free, but requires an optional license to work with the meter. Optionally there are several third party software packages available through this site. Users receive lifelong firmware updates for free.

By means of an internal upgrade connector, various extensions can be added to the analyser at a later stage.

The disadvantage of these mobile spectrum analysers compared to their tabletop alternatives can be found in 2 important differences. The noise floor and bandwidth of this device are a lot better than the table top analysers that can be found in this category. Furthermore, these devices are very good alternatives in terms of price and format.
