iFixit JIS driver set

Screwdrivers suitable for screws with a JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) head. This set contains four drivers in variable sizes: #000, #00, #0 and #1. JIS screws are very common in the world of personal electronics like smartphones, laptops, computers and other small electronics. These JIS drivers can be used to (un)tighten JIS screws without leaving any damage behind.

Phillips head versus JIS head

This screwdriver set is meant for screws with a JIS head. JIS are just different enough in shape that Phillips drivers will not fit well and slip/strip them. The difference is in the leading angle of the point of the driver. Phillips bits have a larger angle and therefore don't bottom out in the JIS screws, causing slippage. JIS screw heads are often marked with a small dimple (see image below).
