iFixit iOpener

The iOpener is an opening tool designed to apply heat directly and evenly to the parts of an enclosure that are glued together. The heat from the iOpener softens the adhesive making it easy to mix with the other components in this sealant, to remove the components from each other.
The toolkit is initially designed for the iPad but can also be used with other tablets, smartphones or other electronics that need heat during disassembly. The iOpener is heated in the microwave, is reusable and non-toxic.
