The GSP-9300B from GW Instek is a light, compact 3 GHz spectrum analyser. The range of 9 kHz to 3 GHz makes the GSP-9300 suitable for use in various applications such as measuring on Wi-Fi or GSM networks. Furthermore, this analyser has a built-in preamplifier, so that the noise level is up to -142 dBm/Hz.
With a sweep executed in 307 µs it is possible to measure changing signals such as bluetooth frequency hopping or interference in a very capable way.
With the included software the measured data can easily be logged on a computer. In addition, the spectrum analyser can be remotely controlled via computer or Android device via an app. The 9300B supports storage on a USB stick, or on a micro-SD card, with the built-in reader on the front.
Optionally it is possible to purchase the GSP-9300B with built-in tracking generator. The usefulness of this is that the response of an e.g. filter can be tested directly. The generator generates a signal on a frequency. This same frequency is measured at the same time by the spectrum analyser. This makes it easy to form an image of the reaction of a circuit at different frequencies.
The difference between the 2 models is only the presence of a tracking generator.
