The GW-Instek GS1052-U is obsolete. Have a look at the very competitive Owon SDS1022.
The GW Instek GDS1052-U is the 50MHz version in the series GDS-1000(A)-U oscilloscopes of GW Instek. Oscilloscopes in these series are equipped with a 5.7" color screen. With a memory depth of up to 2 Mega points, the signals can be displayed perfectly.
The oscilloscopes can be connected to a computer with USB to store the measured data. This can be done in various formats, such as jpeg or bmp, or in the form of a CSV data file, but it is also possible to save the measured values as video files, in order to save the progress of a signal.
It is also possible to log the data over a longer period of time to a computer that is connected via USB.
The 1000A-U models have the possibility to calculate the FFT of a signal. This makes it easy to analyse the frequency components of a signal.
Furthermore, the A-U models have 27 measurement functions, where the 1000U has 19. Some of these can be displayed constantly, or they can all be displayed in a pop-up at the same time.
The built-in auto-set function allows you to display the signal at the touch of a button in a way that is best suited to it. This function offers easy use in spite of the extensive setting possibilities. This allows inexperienced users to use the scope properly. The button can also be turned off in the menu so that the scope can be used to learn how to use oscilloscopes.
The main difference between the models is mainly the bandwidth, with the exception of the 1052-U, which has more differences with the other models.
