GW Instek GCT-9040 ground bond tester

The GW Instek GCT-9040 is a 40A AC ground bond tester and is the successor of the successful GCT-630 from GW Instek. The purpose of the GCT-9040 is to test whether a circuit's conductive parts and their ground are well connected. It does this by measuring whether there is an electrical path between conductive metals and the ground of the power supply. With this test, the quality of the path is checked.
The tester has a maximum AC test current of 40A and uses the promising PWM design for maximum efficiency and reliability, just like comparable models.
The GW Instek GCT-9040 ground bond tester can be connected to other electric safety testers, such as the GW Instek GPT-9800 and GPT-9900(A) series. For example, the GPT-9902A, which is capable of performing AC&DC withstanding tests, can be connected externally to the GCT-9040 to perform even more extensive tests. The GCT-9040 can also be connected to the original all-in-one testers (such as the GPT-9904) to perform the output test at the same time. This test allows the devices to test the DUT simultaneously, thus shortening the overall test time. In this case, the GCT-9040 will take control of the 2 testers to avoid confusion.
Finally, with regard to remote control and data retrieval, the GCT-9040 not only provides a standard USB interface (optional GPIB) for controlling all functionalities, but also provides control of the connected safety testers (GPT-9800/9900/9900/9900A series) via commands for reading the measurement results.
