Fluke 179 True-RMS Multimeter - Calibrated

Calibration information

This multimeter is calibrated in a Dutch lab to factory standards. Of course Fluke has also calibrated the meter during production, but for traceability and extra security it is important for many companies to have a recent and independent calibration report of the meter. You get a recent and traceable (traceable) calibration certificate, this means that the measurement values obtained can be substantiated and ultimately (including uncertainties) are traceable to the SI units such as Volts, Amps, seconds etc. The calibration takes place in a conditioned room in terms of humidity and temperature; only when you use the meter in similar conditions can the values be guaranteed. Should you wish to recalibrate the meter after one year, you can easily arrange this yourself directly at https://www.toolscan.eu/nl/. On this portal you can also save your certificates and view the history per instrument. Besides this (simpler) traceable calibration, there is also the accredited calibration according to ISO 17025. With such a calibration, there are additional requirements for the equipment, conditions and personnel used. This involves higher costs, and in most cases is not necessary. The Fluke 179 is a rugged digital handheld multimeter with a 6000 count display, and is accurate to 0.15% on standard measurement functions. In addition to the standard and true RMS functions for measuring volts, ohms and amperes, capacitance and frequency measurements can also be made. Furthermore, there is a function for diode test and it is possible to check continuity.

The 179, versus the lower models in the 170 series, also offers temperature measurement.

This multimeter has a fold-out stand on the back and the display is large and easy to read. This multimeter uses a 9V block battery, which allows you to use it for about 200 hours. The Fluke 179 falls into the measurement category CAT IV to 600V and CAT III to 1000V.
