Owon RDS1021 pen oscilloscope

The Owon RDS1021 is a very interesting for hobbyist who wants an oscilloscope, but for whom a normal model is too expensive. The RDS1021 is the first oscilloscope in our shop that dives below the 100,- euro limit! The RDS 1021 has a channel with a bandwidth of 25MHz, a sample rate of 100 MegaSamples per second and a memory of 5 Kpts. Sufficient to measure on most circuits where hobbyists come into contact with!

This oscilloscope is of the pen type, and therefore does not have its own display. This is of course not a problem, as measuring results of this oscilloscope can be viewed with the supplied software on a PC or laptop. This allows you to view the output of the RDS1021 on a large screen. The software has an interface that is very similar to that of a normal oscilloscope and is easy to understand.

In use

The oscilloscope is very light and comfortable to hold. Using this pen oscilloscope doesn't feel much different than holding a probe that is common on a normal oscilloscope. On the oscilloscope there is a ball button with which the recording can be stopped, so that you can first measure and then on the display of your PC or laptop can view the measurement results. The ball of this button can be used to adjust the time scale and the vertical sensitivity of the oscilloscope and measurement software while you are measuring, so you don't have to look up the measurement point again and again when you want to measure in a different time scale.

Models

The RDS1021 is available in two versions. The RDS1021-I has USB insulation which makes it suitable for use with voltage up to 400V peak-peak. The version without I does not have this function and can be used up to 50V peak-peak. Furthermore, the RDS1021 and the RDS1021-I are identical.
