Infrared cameras can be used to monitor the temperature of electrical wiring and connections and to see exactly where a door or window is drafting. At Eleshop we sell many different handheld thermal imaging cameras from various brands but there also exist small thermal imaging cameras for smartphones. Therefore in this video, small thermal imaging cameras from Flir and Guide are compared against each other to see how well they perform.

Flir One Pro for Android

The Flir One Pro combines thermal thermal images with visual images with the patented MSX technology. This makes it possible to keep seeing physical details, leaving individual parts visible. The Flir One Pro contains a non-refrigerated LWIR (long wave infrared) FLIR Lepton microbolometer, which is a super small infrared module. The Lepton can measure temperatures from -20° to 400°C, and has a resolution of 160 x 120 pixels. With the Flir One it is possible to look in the dark, through smoke and even through some materials. Thermal pictures or videos taken appear in the gallery and can then be used as normal smartphone photos, easily shared or uploaded. With the accompanying apps, many treatments and functionalities become possible. It is also possible to create your own apps with the SDK. The Flir One Pro has a built-in battery and therefore does not use any power from the phone. This is the Android version with a USB-C connector.
