Tekbox TBPS01-TBWA2 EMC near field probe set

The Tekbox TBPS01-TBWA2 set consists of the Tekbox TBPS01 EMC near field probes set and the Tekbox TBWA2 wideband RF amplifier.

Probes

This set consists of 4 probes with which electromagnetic emission can be measured. This probe set makes it possible to locate potential electromagnetic interference sources within a circuit or device. In this way, it is possible to check whether the device to be tested complies with the EMC-guidelines. The probes work as antennas with large bandwidth and can measure the emitted emission of, for example, components, PCB tracks or other parts of a system that can radiate RF. An alternative application of these probes is an immunity test by radiating an RF signal to a potentially sensitive part of a circuit.

Due to the narrow design, these probes are very suitable for measuring between small openings or components. Furthermore, the large probes can first be used for general measurement, after which the small probes can be used to determine the origin of the emission even more accurately. The probes are shielded to prevent unwanted noise from being picked up.

The larger the diameter of the probe tip, the lower the coupling loss at frequencies below 1 GHz. At frequencies above 1 GHz, the diameter does not make any difference. At these frequencies the coupling loss of all probes is similar. The probe model H20 has resonances in the range of 1.3 GHz and 4 GHz. The probe model H10 has a resonance at 3.1 GHz.

The smaller the loop of the probe, the better the spatial response.

Wideband amplifier

This set comes with one TBWA2 wideband RF amplifier. This is a versatile amplifier that can easily be integrated into a setup. This wideband amplifier is ideal to boost the signals picked up by the near-field probes described above.
