The Rigol MSO5072 is a 2-channel oscilloscope and the 70MHz version in the Rigol MSO5000 series.
These oscilloscopes have a sample rate of up to 8 GS/s. The MSO5000 series oscilloscopes are so-called "Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes" this means that in addition to the analog channels they also support digital channels. With the PLA2216 (Logic analyzer option) it is possible to extend these oscilloscopes with 16 digital channels with a sample rate up to 1 GSa/s. Furthermore it is also possible to extend the oscilloscopes with a serial protocol analysis bundle option. This option adds bus trigger and analysis capabilities for RS232, l2C and CAN decoding to the oscilloscopes. It also includes a dual-channel 25 MHz waveform generator and a built-in power analysis option. More information about these options can be found under the heading 'Options' at the bottom of this page.
The oscilloscopes in this series feature a large 9" capacitive multi-touch screen for easy operation.
With a sample rate up to 8 GSa/s it is possible to visualize very detailed signals with these oscilloscopes. Furthermore, the large memory depth makes it possible to capture long continuous signals. With a waveform capture rate up to 500,000 wfm/s, signals can be analyzed quickly and problems can be found quickly. These oscilloscopes also have 41 built-in waveform parameters, which makes it easy to perform automatic measurements. Measurement results can be transferred to a PC, tablet or screen with HDMI input using the available interfaces.
Optionally, a 16-channel digital logic probe and serial protocol analysis are available. These options are explained in more detail at the bottom of the page.
