Details

Every electronic device that comes onto the market must comply with certain 'EMC guidelines'. These guidelines refer to the extent to which the device to be tested interferes electromagnetically with other devices. A Line Impedance Stabilization Network (LISN) is a device that is used, in conjunction with a measurement receiver or spectrum analyzer, to measure the interference on a power line. As the name implies, a LISN to provide a stabilized fixed measurement impedance regardless of the impedance of the current source.

The TBLC08 is a 50 uH LISN that can be used to measure the conducted noise on the feed line of single-phase AC-powered devices. This LISN is designed to perform EMC pre-compliance testing in the frequency range from 9 kHz to 30 MHz. The TBLC08 is connected between the current source and the device under test and the conducted noise can be measured in relation to the phase and neutral line. This conducted noise is connected to the 50 Ω BNC terminal with minimal losses, where the interference can be analysed. With, for example, a spectrum analyser.
For more information about measuring with the TBLC08 and EMC guidelines, please consult the PDFs at the bottom of this page. Furthermore, there is also PC software to further analyse EMC measurements. This software, EMCview, can be found here.

Watch out! This LISN is suitable for EMC testing on single phase AC powered devices. For testing on DC-powered devices you can use the TBOH01.
